London born Charles Joseph goes by the name of Chux when he's in the booth; A self-educated turntablist with a passion for music of all genres and all eras. Chux Co-Founded London Collective The Pipe Dreamers, known for their great parties at London’s Ace Hotel (now 100 Shoreditch) where they put on their night ILLICIT, pushing Hip Hop/Future Beats and the freshest sounds.
Chux has had incredible success, whether its playing in front of 15,000+ in a stadium or an intimate 150-400 person venue, Chux has delivered across the UK and abroad. Chux has extensive experience touring most recently in 2024 supporting Bombay Bicycle Club on their UK & Ireland Tour and previously with the likes of OthaSoul and Barney Artist. He has supported the likes of Hip-Hop legend DJ Jazzy Jeff and Little Simz as well as supporting Pete Rock, Talib Kweli and Loyle Carner as Official DJ for Soul Hip Hop duo, OthaSoul. Chux is now the official DJ for Barney Artist as of 2018 and has already toured with Barney supporting Alfa Mist across the UK and in Europe, Touring the UK with Barney Artist & Mr Jukes aka Jack Steadman (Lead singer of Bombay Bicycle Club) and has played festivals such as Glastonbury, Love Supreme, World Island Festival, Barn on the Farm, Sonic Visions Festival, Eurosonic, Cool Fest and more. Chux has also enjoyed spinning at festivals such as Bestival & Fresh Island Festival in Croatia, and touring Europe with Barney Artist supporting the incredible Tom Misch on his sold out European tour in Brussels, Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt & Munich. Chux made his first mark on Asia in 2019 playing multiple times in South Korea at Soap Seoul and spinning in Taiwan with Barney Artist.
Chux has been gripped by Amapiano Music coming out of South Africa’s townships and after discovering the genre and culture at the start of 2021, he’s fully immersed himself in it. His video mix series Mapiano Mondays takes you on his journey from discovery and Chux is becoming one of the go to DJ’s in the UK for this fast growing genre.
Chux is extremely well versed in the corporate world of DJing having played regularly for the likes of UEFA, for Arsenal's home Champions League games at the prestigious Emirates Stadium in 2014, as well as working with brands in store and for bespoke events, such as NIKE, NFL, The FA, Facebook, Levi's, Superdry, Selfridges, Foot Asylum, Axel Arigato, Ace Hotel and more.
